One of the most common mistakes made by foreign learners of Korean is misusing particles. In Korean, particles determine the role of each sentence component, so using them incorrectly can completely change the meaning. Another mistake happens when translating English expressions directly into Korean. This also happens when Koreans write in English. (I'm one of them. 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️) However, as in the example above, we need to be careful not to create phrases that could lead to misunderstandings, right? What the person originally meant was, "I will do a big cleaning next year." Since "내년" is translated as "next year" in English, they literally translated it as "다음 년" (next year).
